Firstly,
1. Submit your site to every search engines available.
2. Subcribe in mailing list.
3. Talk about it to anyone you met.
4. Exchange link with webmasters around the world.
5. Never give up hope.

Post to it regularly, with links back to your site. Over time your traffic will increase, as long as you post quality information.

One way incoming links are much more valuable than two way links, so it is no longer as simple as just swapping links with people.

Look up ‘article’ sites. Join them and submit a 500 word article after reading their rules. They let you put your website’s link in your bio box.

Again, over time you will get more and more traffic. If the site is good quality, you can ask your friends to social bookmark it, on Stumble, Digg etc. Why not post a link here for starters?

Another great tip is to think of keywords or even better; key phrases that people interested in your site might type into a search engine. Say it’s a Keep Fit site;

Key phrase examples:
Keep fit
Keeping fit
How to keep fit
Getting fit
Staying fit
Staying healthy etc.

And have those key phrases in the page titles, metatags, descriptions, images’ alt text and if possible the domain name - that really is a winner!

Also search for ‘free traffic’
‘PPC’ (pay per click advertising)
‘internet marketing’ and ‘website marketing’
